Lymphedema is a disease that occurs when the lymphatic vessels do not drain lymphatic fluid properly. It usually affects one or both arms and/or legs.
Unfortunately, there is no definitive cure for lymphedema, but it can be controlled with:
* A regular diet without excess salt.
* A compression sleeve or mesh to prevent swelling.
* Exercises and stretching of the body.
* Manual drainage with special massages to drain lymphatic fluid.
* Pneumatic pump: A machine that inflates a sleeve to drain lymphatic fluid.
Because of everything I went through with my cancer treatment, I have lymphedema in my left arm. The cancer affected my lymph nodes a lot, and they had to remove them. Since then, it has been difficult to cope with this condition, but all these tools have helped me control my lymphedema.

El linfedema es una enfermedad que se produce cuando los vasos linfáticos no drenan adecuadamente el líquido linfático. Suele afectar a uno o ambos brazos y/o piernas.
Lamentablemente no existe cura definitiva para el linfedema, en cambio se puede controlar con:
- Dieta regular sin exceso de sal
- Manga o maya compresora para evitar el hinchazon.
- Ejercicio y estiramientos en el cuerpo
- Drenaje manuel con masajes especiales para drenar el liquido linfatico.
- Bomba neumática: Una máquina que infla una manga para drenar el líquido linfático.
Debido a todo lo que pasé con mi tratamiento contra el cáncer, tengo linfedema en el brazo izquierdo. El cáncer afectó mucho mis ganglios linfáticos y tuvieron que extirparlos. Desde entonces, ha sido difícil sobrellevar esta afección, pero todas estas herramientas me han ayudado a controlar mi linfedema.
